Team Battles
A team battle is an arena tournament where you play for your team instead of only
for yourself.
How scoring works
You play normal arena games against anyone in the tournament, on any team. Your
points count towards your own standing and your team's total at the same time.
A team's score is the sum of its top N players, where N is set by the
organiser — often ten. Everyone's games matter until the field settles, because
nobody knows in advance which ten will finish highest.
Joining one
Team battles are open only to members of the invited teams. Join one of those
teams first, then enter the tournament from its page.
Team leaders decide which teams are invited. If yours is not on the list, ask the
organiser rather than the site.
Tactics that are actually tactics
Turn up on time. Arena scoring rewards a long uninterrupted run; joining
halfway means competing against people who have been accumulating points and
streaks since the start.
Play fast. Arena points come from finishing games, not from playing perfectly.
Two wins beat one flawless draw.
Streaks matter. Two wins in a row start a streak that doubles the value of
your next wins. Losing the streak is worse than losing the point.
Tactics that are cheating
Arranging results with an opponent, or losing on purpose to lift a teammate, is
match fixing — see Fair Play. It is treated the same as engine
use, and it can cost the whole team the event.
