# Privacy

Short version: we store what the site needs to work, we show no ads, we run no
third-party analytics, and we do not sell or share your data.

## What we store

**Your account.** Username, password (hashed — we cannot read it), and your
email address. The email is used for confirming your account, resetting your
password, and nothing else. We do not send newsletters.

**What you do here.** Games you play, puzzles you solve, studies and forum posts
you write, your preferences, your ratings. Games and public posts are visible to
other users; that is the point of them.

**Technical logs.** Your IP address and browser user-agent are recorded when you
connect. We use them to find multiple accounts, cheating, and abuse, and to
diagnose faults. They are not used to build an advertising profile, because we
have no advertising.

**Cookies.** One session cookie so you stay logged in, and small settings stored
in your browser (theme, board, language). No advertising or tracking cookies.

## Where it is stored, and who else sees it

The database runs on a single rented server in Finland. Nobody outside the
people operating HungKings has access to it.

Two outside services are involved:

- **Amazon SES** delivers our email. It therefore sees your email address and
  the contents of the messages we send you (account confirmation, password
  reset).
- **Our hosting provider** operates the physical machine.

We do not use Google Analytics or any equivalent.

## Children

If you enable Kid Mode, chat and public messaging are switched off and the
interface is restricted. Parents managing an account for a child should turn it
on.

## Your choices

You can change your email address and most settings from your account page. You
can close your account, or request complete deletion of it, from the same place.
Deletion removes your account and personal data; games you played remain, since
they involve another player as well.
