Tournament Prizes

Some tournaments here advertise prizes. This page explains who is responsible for
them.

HungKings does not fund or handle prizes

We provide the tournament software. We do not fund prizes, do not hold the money,
and cannot recover it if an organiser does not pay. A prize announced in a
tournament description is a promise made by that organiser to the players, and
nothing more.

Before you enter a tournament for its prize

Look at who is running it. An organiser with a real team, a history of events
and a public presence is a very different proposition from a new account.

Read exactly what is promised. How much, to which places, paid how, and by
when. Vague terms are the ones that turn into disputes.

Check the entry conditions. If entry costs anything at all, be much more
careful — and note that we do not process payments of any kind.

For organisers

State the prize precisely in the tournament description: amounts, places, method
of payment, and timescale. Announce the winners publicly and pay when you said
you would.

Do not advertise a prize you are not certain you can pay. Failing to deliver one
is treated as a breach of the Terms of Service and costs the account,
regardless of the reason.

If you were not paid

Contact the organiser first — most failures are disorganisation rather than bad
faith. If that goes nowhere, tell us with the tournament link and
what was promised. We cannot recover your prize, but we can stop the organiser
advertising more of them here.
