Terms of Service

By using HungKings you agree to these terms. They are written in plain language
on purpose.

Your account

One account per person. Do not create additional accounts to get around a
restriction, to inflate someone's rating, or to play yourself.

Choose a username that is not offensive, not impersonating someone else, and not
advertising. Usernames cannot be changed afterwards — only the capitalisation.
You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself.

You must be old enough to consent to us storing your data where you live. If you
are a child, use the site with a parent's knowledge.

Fair play

Do not use a chess engine, a database, another person, or any other outside help
during a game, unless the game explicitly allows it. This is the one rule we
enforce hardest, because it is the only one that ruins the site for everyone
else.

Do not deliberately lose games, arrange results, or play in a way designed to
manipulate ratings — yours or anyone else's.

Do not stall a lost position to run down the clock, and do not abandon games you
are losing. Repeatedly leaving games will suspend your ability to start new ones
for a while.

Behaviour

Chat, forums, team pages, studies and profile text are all covered by one rule:
do not harass, threaten, insult, or post material that is hateful, sexual, or
illegal. Do not spam or advertise.

Moderators may remove content, mute, or close accounts. If you think a decision
was wrong, appeal — do not message moderators directly.

Content you post

You keep ownership of what you write and of the studies you create. By posting
it here you give us permission to store it and show it to other users, which is
the only way the site can work. Do not post material you have no right to
publish.

What we do not promise

HungKings is provided as it is, free of charge, with no warranty. We do not
guarantee that it will be available, that your games will be preserved, or that
it will be free of faults. We may change or discontinue any part of it. This is
an early-stage service run on a single server — please do not treat it as
permanent storage for anything you cannot lose.

We are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site, to the extent
the law allows.

Ending your account

You may close your account at any time from your account settings, or request
full deletion. We may close an account that breaks these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continuing to use the site after a change means you
accept it.
