About HungKings

HungKings is a free chess server. You can play against people or against the
computer, solve puzzles, study openings, follow tournaments, and analyse your
own games. There is no charge for any of it, and there never will be.

What it runs on

HungKings is a fork of Lichess, the free chess server run
as a charity by a community of volunteers. Almost everything you see here — the
board, the analysis engine, puzzles, tournaments, studies, the eight chess
variants — was built by that community over more than a decade. We use it under
the AGPL-3.0 licence, which obliges us to publish our own changes in return. We

What we add is a Vietnamese home for it. The interface is available in Vietnamese
alongside 90-odd other languages, and Vietnamese sits second in the language
list rather than buried alphabetically.

No ads, no tracking

We show no advertising, we run no third-party analytics, and we do not sell or
share what you do here. This is not a business model we are being generous
about — there is no business model. See Privacy for what we actually

Where it stands

HungKings is early. It runs on a single server, the player base is small, and
you should expect rough edges. If something is broken, the
contact page explains how to tell us.
